Book excerpt: The second book in New York Times-bestselling Seanan McGuire's witty urban fantasy InCryptid series about a family of cryptozoologists who act as a buffer between humans and the magical creatures living in secret around us. "The only thing more fun than an October Daye book is an InCryptid book." —Charlaine Harris, #1 New York Times-bestselling author of Sookie Stackhouse series Normal, adjective: Conforming to the standard or common type. See also "ordinary." Abnormal, adjective: Deviating from the common type, such as playing monster-human on the rooftops of Manhattan. See also "Verity Price." The Price family has spent generations studying the monsters of the world, working to protect them from humanity—and to protect humanity from them. Verity Price is just trying to do her job, keeping the native cryptid population of Manhattan from getting into trouble, and doing a little ballroom dancing on the side. Enter Dominic De Luca, an operative for the Covenant of St. George, and Verity's on-again, off-again boyfriend. When he tells her that the Covenant is sending a full team to assess how ready the city is for a purge, Verity finds herself between a rock and a hard place. Stay, and risk her almost-certain death, or flee, and leave the cryptids of New York with nothing between them and the Covenant. With allies and enemies on every side, and no safe way to turn, it's going to take some quickstepping for Verity to waltz out of this one. There's just one question on everyone's mind: Is this the last dance for Verity Price?

Book excerpt: First book in New York Times-bestselling Seanan McGuire's witty urban fantasy InCryptid series about a family of cryptozoologists who act as a buffer between humans and the magical creatures living in secret around us. "The only thing more fun than an October Daye book is an InCryptid book." —Charlaine Harris, #1 New York Times-bestselling author of Sookie Stackhouse series Cryptid, noun: Any creature whose existence has not yet been proven by science. See also "Monster." Crytozoologist, noun: Any person who thinks hunting for cryptids is a good idea. See also "idiot." Ghoulies. Ghosties. Long-legged beasties. Things that go bump in the night... The Price family has spent generations studying the monsters of the world, working to protect them from humanity—and humanity from them. Enter Verity Price. Despite being trained from birth as a cryptozoologist, she'd rather dance a tango than tangle with a demon, and is spending a year in Manhattan while she pursues her career in professional ballroom dance. Sounds pretty simple, right? It would be, if it weren't for the talking mice, the telepathic mathematicians, the asbestos supermodels, and the trained monster-hunter sent by the Price family's old enemies, the Covenant of St. George. When a Price girl meets a Covenant boy, high stakes, high heels, and a lot of collateral damage are almost guaranteed. To complicate matters further, local cryptids are disappearing, strange lizard-men are appearing in the sewers, and someone's spreading rumors about a dragon sleeping underneath the city...

Book excerpt: ”The calculated location of the ancient solar eclipses could have an error of up to about 10 kilometers.” This statement by the U.S. Space Administration NASA is a scientific outstretching of how ancient eclipses can be found. When numerous eclipses observed in ancient times are applied to that measure set by science, they reveal a very significant secret of ancient history. Another significant factor is the lunar eclipses of the ancient Ur III dynasty. Can they be found? And what does everything have to be considered in order to find them? Why haven’t scientists discovered the double eclipse of Babylon?

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The End times Bible Handbook is a guide to the Biblical record of the past and how the past has influenced near future events! The next prophetic event on God’s calendar is the Rapture! Whatever year it happens, the Rapture will happen at the end of Rosh Hashanah, “at the sound of the last trump”, at sundown. The Rapture is the evacuation of believers off of our planet before the Tribulation begins. 10 days after the Rapture (10 Days of Awe), on Yom Kippur, the Antichrist will guarantee the covenant of Rabin for 7 years. That is the day that they shall say... “Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them”. (1 Thessalonians 5:3) “Sudden” means “blindsided”! That is the beginning of 7 years of Satanic Genocide, Terror, War, Famine, pestilence, strange weather, earthquakes, volcanos, beheadings and 28 Judgments of God! Or you could just say Jihad. The Bible describes Islam as the Religion of the Antichrist that will rule the world for the last three and a half years of the Tribulation. The real Jesus will return at Armageddon to save the remnants of believers! And ... “whosoever calleth upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”. (Joel 2:32) Just Faith!

This book was released on 2018-07-09 with total page 330 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In his last essay just weeks before his death at the age of 91, David S. Nivison says, "Breaking into a formal system - such as a chronology - must be like breaking into a code. If you are successful, success will show right off." Since the late 1970's Nivison has focused his scholarship on breaking the code of Three Dynasties (Xia, Shang, Zhou) chronology by establishing an innovative methodology based on mourning periods, astronomical phenomenon, and numerical manipulations derived from them. Nivison is most readily known in the field for revising (and then revising again) the date of the Zhou conquest of Shang, and for his theory that Western Zhou kings employed two calendars (His so-called "Two yuan" theory), the second being set in effect upon the death of the new king's predecessor and counted from the completion of post-mourning rites for him (i.e., a "second 'first' year"). Nivison's enabling discovery that the Bamboo Annals (BA) had a historical basis was initially designed to make Wang Guowei's analysis of lunar phase terms (the so-called "Four quarter" theory that separated each month into four quarters) work for Western Zhou bronze inscriptions. In order to do so he had to assume that some inscriptions used a second yuan counted from completion of mourning. The king's death was the most important event late in a reign, so this implied that a king's reign-of-record was normally counted from the second yuan, omitting initial mourning years. It follows that when the unexpressed mourning years are forgotten (or edited out) but the dates of the beginning and end of the dynasty are still known, the remaining reigns-of-record cluster toward the beginning and end, and a reign in the middle is enlarged. Problems, ideas, and solutions like the one described above are found throughout this new collection of important works on chronology, astronomy, and historiography.
